Beach Program.

The beach program is a FREE event held throughout the year in collaboration with Surf Lifesaving NSW.

It is a 3 - 4 hour event that aims to give participants a general understanding of the ocean and the knowledge to stay safe when attending a beach.

It includes a theory and practical component.

Theory Component.

The theory component of our beach safety program involves:

  1. Learning about rips and how to stay safe if caught in one

  2. Learning how to safely enter and exit the ocean

  3. Learning about the different types of waves and beach types

  4. Learning about safety signage at the beach

  5. Learning about basic emergency protocols

 

Practical Component.

The practical component of the beach safety program involves:

  1. Using various rescue equipment e.g body boards & rescue tubes

  2. Safely entering and exiting the water

  3. familiarisation with waves
